{"id":13037,"date":"2022-06-25T11:29:58","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T09:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ceves.org.rs\/?p=13037"},"modified":"2026-10-13T12:43:57","modified_gmt":"2026-10-13T10:43:57","slug":"inicijativa-msp100-expo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ceves.org.rs\/en\/inicijativa-msp100-expo\/","title":{"rendered":"SME100 Expo Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SMEs are Serbia's economic backbone, yet many dynamic, fast-growing companies remain invisible to policymakers and the public as B2B \"hidden champions.\" Serbia's fragmented SME landscape keeps high performers isolated.<br>In 2022, CEVES launched the SME100 Expo to create a nation-wide platform promoting, connecting, and empowering top SMEs while advocating for reforms in finance, green and digital transitions, and the business environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the project, CEVES identified and engaged leading SME exporters and innovators (\u201cSME100 Champions\u201d) through hard, verifiable criteria. It awarded \"Super Champions\" excelling in specific areas, organizes annual Expo-Conferences in regional hubs (Kragujevac 2022, Ni\u0161 2023, \u010ca\u010dak 2024), and provides continuity through the annual <strong>SME Barometer<\/strong>. CEVES acts as convener and policy advocate, linking SMEs with government, donors, IFIs, and the business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key results:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Events enabled leading SMEs to recognize each other as a broader community rather than isolated islands, providing unique opportunities for policymakers, donors, and stakeholders to hear directly from entrepreneurs driving Serbia's growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three annual SME100 Expo-Conferences organized in regional hubs gathered over 800 participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition of \"Super Champions\" \u2013 SMEs leading in sustainable growth, export sophistication, and green innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launched thematic side-events: ESG integration and green competitiveness workshops (2023).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Established continuity through the annual <strong>SME Barometer<\/strong> for follow-up, monitoring, and advocacy. 25 SME100 initiatives articulated, with 6 already adopted or partially implemented (notably in Workforce development and Access to finance).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Workforce development, regional dual-education centers were established, scholarships for deficit profiles increased, and procedures simplified for hiring foreign specialists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In access to finance, CEVES prepared detailed calculations and advocacy proposals for introducing a tax credit to support SME investments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In business environment reform, the \u201eThink Small First\u201c principle and <strong>SME Test<\/strong> were integrated into Serbia's SME Development Strategy 2023-2027, though implementation remains limited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Green transition, priorities were identified but implementation remains at an early stage due to financial and institutional constraints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mala i srednja preduze\u0107a (MSP) su ekonomski stub Srbije, ali mnoge dinami\u010dne, brzo rastu\u0107e kompanije ostaju nevidljive za donosioce politika i javnost kao B2B \u201eskriveni \u0161ampioni\u201c.
