The goal is for progress to be manifested in the improvement of the negotiation process for Chapter 8, in such a way that Serbia's negotiating position is prepared one year from the start of the project. However, democratic consolidation and institutional strengthening will be achieved by strengthening the institutions responsible for the protection and promotion of competition and by holding them accountable by civil society organizations. This will create an environment in which a large number of stakeholders better understand how EU competition policies benefit consumers and promote economic development.
