{"id":8716,"date":"2023-06-08T15:36:18","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T13:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ceves.org.rs\/?p=8716"},"modified":"2025-12-01T16:41:37","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T15:41:37","slug":"sr-skrining-inicjative-otvoreni-balkan-analize-zemalja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ceves.org.rs\/en\/sr-skrining-inicjative-otvoreni-balkan-analize-zemalja\/","title":{"rendered":"Screening of the \u201eOpen Balkan\u201c initiative \u2013 Country analyses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Within the project \u201cAssessing and streamlining the potential of the Open Balkan Initiative\u201d, the Center for Economic Analysis (CEA) from Skopje, published a report on research task 1: <a href=\"https:\/\/ceves.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1.-OBI-Project-Regional-Report_Task_SR.pdf\">Screening of the \u201eOpen Balkan\u201c Initiative \u2013 Country Analyses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report, in the preparation of which CEVES also participated, states two general observations regarding the practical implementation of regional economic integration in thematic areas. First, OBI (Open Balkan Initiative) overlaps with the operational regional agreement (CEFTA) or regional initiatives (MAP REA and CRM AP), especially in the area of free movement of goods and workers, which is also the area where OBI has gone furthest in terms of implementation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second general observation is that the political commitments of the OBI participating countries are vertically oriented and are being implemented slowly. Most of the political promises that are repeated at OBI summits and public appearances of OBI leaders have yet to be operationalized. The ratification process for all OBI agreements is taking a long time, especially in North Macedonia.
