The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) and Think Europe, in cooperation with the Institute for Development and Innovation in Serbia and partners from other Western Balkan economies, Converge2EU maintains a regional platform dedicated to monitoring the economic, social, and institutional convergence of these countries with the European Union. Through clearly presented indicators and an interactive dashboard, the platform provides a clearer insight into where the region's countries stand today in relation to the average level of development and living standards in the EU.
The value of the platform lies in presenting the European convergence process in a clear, comparable, and empirically based manner. Instead of focusing solely on the formal aspects of European integration, Converge2EU helps to assess how close the region's countries truly are to the European standard in areas that directly affect the quality of life and long-term development.
CEVES recognized the significant analytical potential of this platform and began using it as one of the tools in its research and analytical work. Within CEVES's Key Analysis on Economic Governance for 2025, Converge2EU was used to assess Serbia's position in relation to the European Union and to compare it with the countries of the region through a broader framework of economic, social, and institutional indicators.
We invite all interested parties to explore the Converge2EU platform and learn more about its content and capabilities – https://converge2.eu/
