Within Platforms for societal dialogue „Sustainable Development for All”, the Centre for Advanced Economic Studies (CEVES) has published the publication „Businesses in Serbia and Agenda 2030 – priorities, challenges, and the COVID-19 crisis”, whose aim is to contribute to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Republic of Serbia. The publication presents the results of a survey conducted in October 2020, which included 1100 Serbian businesses of various sizes, sectors, and regions.
The publication provides answers to questions about Serbian businesses' awareness of Agenda 2030, their social priorities, the obstacles hindering their faster growth, as well as the impact of the pandemic on their expectations and operations. The survey reveals which topics and initiatives businesses consider most important for improving life (at local and national levels) and whether they are further engaged in contributing to the community. Through the survey, businesses have pointed out key factors for their further development, such as stable economic growth, digitalization, infrastructure, and the lack of a workforce with appropriate knowledge and skills. They have expressed their views on the impact of foreign direct investment on their local communities, as well as on issues of global importance, such as environmental protection.
