The project aimed to adopt recommendations for a new strategy for small and medium-sized enterprises, support the alignment of policies and practices in Serbia with the key Copenhagen criteria on the existence of a functional market economy, and assist in unlocking Serbia's growth potential and boosting firm performance. The project consisted of several steps, involving discussions with economic experts; non-economic experts; decision-makers; regional development agencies; the private sector / entrepreneurs, and the media. In subsequent phases, CEVES conducted analyses of the performance of the SME sector and published the results of these studies. The project also resulted in the brochure „Entrepreneurship in Serbia – Necessity or Opportunity“.
