In order to connect key local partners, namely representatives of the private sector and local communities, on the path to achieving green transformation, the 2030 Agenda and sustainable development goals, as well as to empower the private sector on the path of green transformation by familiarizing them with upcoming obligations and opportunities, CEVES organized workshops „Sustainable Development: Strengthening the Capacities of the Business Sector” in three Serbian cities.
Workshops were held within the framework of the „SDG Accelerator for All“ project, supported by GIZ, with the aim of strengthening the understanding, motivation, and capacity of key sustainable development actors in Serbia to participate in the necessary adjustments of the green transition.
Within the workshops, the research „Green Transition and Financing Sources“ and „Guide to International Value Chains“ were presented, which dealt with the current state of the green transition in Serbia, available financial resources, market opportunities for green companies/products/practices, and best practice examples of multi-stakeholder cooperation – especially between local actors.
The workshop in Kragujevac was organized in cooperation with the Regional Economic Development Agency of Šumadija and Pomoravlje.
The partner in organizing the workshop in Niš was the Regional Development Agency South.
The workshop in Užice was realized in cooperation with the Zlatibor Regional Development Agency.
Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the Responsible Business Hub of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, as well as to jointly formulate the next steps at the local level.
