The working group, which brings together about twenty economic experts, agreed that fiscal policy, primarily a real reduction in state spending, had only a mildly contractionary effect on economic growth, and that unjustified extraordinary expenditures included in the budget rebalance would do little to help economic growth, and would slow down the necessary inflation containment, even though a lower deficit was projected compared to the previous year.
The Group emphasizes that inflation cannot be curbed solely by restrictive monetary policy, especially since, in addition to the population, it affects domestic SMEs the most.
The fact that monetary policy has little effect on the demand of large companies is an often overlooked aspect of macroeconomic policy.
Once again, it was emphasized the harmfulness of a development policy that focuses exclusively on FDI (which are already very high and continue to grow) while neglecting the SME sector in terms of both the legislative and strategic framework and in practice.
