It studies the factors of economic growth from the perspective of businesses with the aim of enabling the creation of policies that would improve results and enable their growth, accumulating knowledge in centers based on which businesses could find solutions to their problems.
This program develops knowledge that is of critical importance for supporting entrepreneurship in Serbia, and also to provide appropriate tools with which entrepreneurship will further develop and progress. Thanks to this program, CEVES emphasizes some of the biggest and deeply rooted problems of companies, and strives to gather the wider public at the macro and micro level, insisting on changes.
According to the World Bank: The major problem of the company structure in Serbia is the „lack of the middle ground,“ a shortage of dynamic medium-sized companies that will significantly contribute to the development of the economy. Resources are strictly concentrated in a small number of large companies with unsatisfactory productivity. Also, there is a large number of small and micro enterprises that have not managed to grow into medium-sized ones, nor to achieve the economies of scale necessary to become competitive exporters.“.
Taking into account such a company structure in Serbia, primarily the lack of domestic medium-sized enterprises and the inability to implement necessary organizational changes to achieve growth opportunities, significant effort is necessary to invest in order for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to grow into large ones. Companies in Serbia must report daily on financing and, among other things, on strategies and risks. In this regard, CEVES will focus on several topics that have a significant impact on success or failure.
