CEVES AND TOC – STRENGTHENING THE PERSPECTIVE OF LOCAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Sastanak o održivom razvoju u lokalnim zajednicama

Over the past year, the Center for Advanced Economic Studies CEVES, in cooperation with the Timočka omladinska centar TOC, and within the framework of the „Sustainable Development for All“ Platform supported by the governments of Switzerland and Germany and implemented by GIZ, has carried out activities at the local level in the communities of Pirot, Knjaževac, and Sombor, with the aim of localizing the sustainable development goals.

Consultative meetings were held in local communities with representatives of local self-government, the private sector, and the civil sector, during which discussions were held on the vision of development plans and investment priorities, labor force employment needs, the vision for improving the local business environment that will be stimulating for work and investment in these municipalities, and the challenges of respecting environmental protection standards.

The purpose of these documents is to identify the development problems of local self-governments, define development goals and measures, taking into account the optimal use of existing resources and potentials that will enable balanced, sustainable, and higher-quality development of local communities as a whole. The analyses represent the basis for the preparation of third-level development planning documents.

The documents were presented at meetings with representatives of the local self-governments of Knjaževac, Sombor, and Pirot, and can be downloaded at the following links:
