Using the Sustainable Development Goals as a Guide for Redirecting Social Science Research: A Pilot Project

Grafikoni konkurentnosti realnog sektora Srbije

Partner: HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation

This project defines and promotes an interdisciplinary and participatory “bottom-up“ approach in understanding specific aspects of Serbia's key development factors – how competitiveness strategies can foster the creation of quality jobs and achieve goals even in underdeveloped regions (and for their populations). A specific goal is to create a framework for interaction between interest groups, researchers, and decision-makers, which will facilitate their engagement in public debate / participatory processes that enhance understanding and policies that can accelerate economic, social, and human development within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the key phases of the project is the organization of stakeholder dialogue, through consultative round tables / workshops, all in order to identify key issues in the process of finding key competitiveness – connections within human development frameworks, needs for further research to identify drivers of positive change, and finally, how they can be measured. For this dialogue, CEVES has prepared the study „Performance and Competitiveness of the Real Sector – Selected Facts and Issues (Serbia 2009-2016)“.
